Whilst searching the Pathe News archive Alec Beanse has found a clip of Spitbank Fort in 1941. The archive contains very little of a Victorian nature but also to be seen is an interesting sequence of the Royal Engineers blowing up a Moncrieff pit on the Hilsea Lines and another showing some Victorian American Coast Defence artillery pieces firing.
